Have you ever looked around at our generation?  We are part of something big!

We are a passionate, confused, fun-loving, searching, crazy bunch of people. We have so much to offer. So many skills, desires, dreams, hopes … it’s exciting to think what just one of us could accomplish if we were completely obedient to God.

Obedience can be a scary word. It implies that there is someone in authority over us and we don’t usually like that. My 3-year old daughter, Abby, is discovering how to obey (funny you don’t have to teach them how to disobey). I love my role as a father. One thing I have learned in the past few months when teaching Abby about obeying is that I have to be extremely direct and very repetitive. I have to even flat out say, “Abby, please obey daddy and finish your dinner.” Then, so I know she heard me, I’ll ask her to say, “yes, daddy.”

You may not want to hear this, but what The RightNow Campaign is calling our generation to do is to obey.  My suspicion is that God has been (or will be) very direct with you about how He wants you to serve Him. And He won’t give up, He will keep trying to get through to you over and over again. Maybe visiting this site is about saying, “yes, God.” I don’t know what you’ll be saying yes to … but if God’s asking the question … then “yes” is a good answer. But you have to say it so He knows that you heard Him.

My prayer is that you say “yes” and even take practical steps towards living it out – right now!
